ESNNA CODE and Nuna Expeditions

According to Law No. 28251, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) has established the policy against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA). Therefore, the ESNNA code and Nuna Expeditions have an agreement for joint actions to prevent and eradicate this problem. Therefore, we declare that:

We reject the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA) in Peru and worldwide, particularly in its form associated with travel and tourism, as it violates fundamental human rights and contradicts the intrinsic objectives of tourism in our country.
We denounce and condemn those who exploit tourist activities and the facilities and services provided to promote, facilitate or tolerate the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. In view of this,
Nuna Expeditions endorses this Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents in the tourism sector.

This Code is a formal statement of voluntary adherence, with the objective of establishing conduct guidelines for all members of Nuna Expeditions to protect children and adolescents from any form of sexual exploitation or human trafficking associated with travel and tourism.

Furthermore, as members of this company, and to take the necessary measures to protect children and adolescents from sexual exploitation, we commit to:

  1. Maintain an ethical policy of rejection of commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the context of travel and tourism.
  2. Inform and train staff about the company's policy regarding the prevention of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism and travel.
  3. Display visible symbols to alert customers and suppliers about the company's stance against sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism and travel.
  4. Include a clause in contracts with tourism service providers stating a shared rejection of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. The following paragraph will be used:
"Tourism promotes a childhood and adolescence free from sexual exploitation; therefore, we do not accept any act that supports the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents."
